So i'm lazy

Therefore, I haven't posted here in a while.

I spent July 4-10 in Virginia and DC, hung out with Steve and Ben and had a blast with them.  I've quit drinking since then, from what Steve described as a "gin and juice wreck."  It was neat staying with steve, hes a pretty cool guy.  I spent the second half of the week at George Washinton Universtiy, in Washington DC, where I'm going to college at.  I did the orientation program, Colonial Inauguration, and got my classes registered.
I'm taking:
  • 2 engineering orientations
  • chemistry
  • calculus, single variable
  • world religions: intro to the east
  • intro to western philosphy

15 credit hours, I like my schedule.  I met a bunch of neat people there, I'm really going to like that school.  The engineering department has such a homey feel to it.

In the infinite vacuum of space I become a god

John Keats. 1795–1821

WHEN I have fears that I may cease to be
Before my pen has glean'd my teeming brain,
Before high pil`d books, in charact'ry,
Hold like rich garners the full-ripen'd grain;
When I behold, upon the night's starr'd face,
Huge cloudy symbols of a high romance,
And feel that I may never live to trace
Their shadows, with the magic hand of chance;
And when I feel, fair creature of an hour!
That I shall never look upon thee more,
Never have relish in the faery power
Of unreflecting love;—then on the shore
Of the wide world I stand alone, and think,
Till Love and Fame to nothingness do sink.

and then i was like weeeee!

I spent time this week in drivers ed; it was my graduation present from my parents, it was that or a new bicycle (I would've prefered the bike). It was interesting, primarily reading from a book, watching 80's instructional videos and talking to cute girls. There were a few neat people in the class, and plenty of not so neat people. I'm going to the DMV for my permit on tuesday morning, hopefully I'll have it done before work.

I met Zenster today, we had lunch at city bites. He was a really nice fella. I'm going to St. Louis this weekend with him and his girlfriend for Damitcon II. Its a get together of (now) old UT99 Assault players; some of them have moved on to UT2k4 Assault. It'll be cool to meet some people I've fragged and been fragged by; meeting people makes it more real, like after meeting Steve from Arrow and That Vela Fella from..well..Vela is everywhere.

I need to get out of the house soon...

A sonnet

Something I wrote for a friend right months ago...but i'm feeling it now.

======================

Youre two together,

Both one of a kind.

You think forever

You could be in a bind.

Held down by a heavy hand.

You want to change

But find it hard to bend

Youve been banished from that open range.

I see you with him, its evident

That he is yours and you his;

Two friends drawn into an event,

A silent romance it truly is.

A romance hidden from authoritys site

Has the sweetest purr and bite.

weird

I've got an awfully queer feeling inside my head.

Its like parts of my life are flying up, soaring with the clouds, whilst others fall down, down in the down deep down. I feel like I'm Westley, saying "As you wish." Or is she saying that to me?

untitled, 9/25/03

The day is young, full of strength and vitality.
One warrior, iron-willed, will draw upon this vitality.

Tapping from it, he will form his fighting spirit.
A master of the foil, he will ward his enemies away.

Fueling his courage with his hope of love,
Slaying his darkest demons with his vorpal blade.

Aided by his ragtag band of supporters and warriors
He moves to slay the Jaberwock; OH; the beast is closing in.

They draw upon strength and vitality, hardening their swords and steel.
A thrust and a stab; a bite and a swat; volleys of blood.

Success is the warrior, landing a vorpal blow.
Severing the head of the beast he asserts himself as truth.

Fueling his long for love he asserts his quest as true.

Wine

I caught a glimpse
of a fine wine,

Bearing a crisp label
it was straight from the vine;

As I stood, the wine lay there
then was taken, fair and square.

There I stood, without a drop
parched and looking with wanderlust

One fine spring, I found my wine,
Tasting a drop, feeling robust,

Although in tasting, I feel like an ass
All I do is crave a class

2 hours

and ten minutes.

i'm almost done with highschool..period. no more classes..no more work...except my video project for the school.

I graduate next week. I've waited the past 3 weeks for this....part of me wants to leave, to go live in dc and part of me wants to stay in oklahoma with everyone. but i'm going, there is no way in hell i'm staying at this point. part of me doesn't want college to be like highschool, with the same people.

make new friends, but keep the old
one is silver and the other is gold

posting from another computer i just fixed...or rather, i troubleshooted the entire network, since that was at fault, not the computer. damn i wish people would think more...

Simplicity

A pause, a moment
these little things in life

The chirp of a bird
light of the moon

Such simple things
oft forsake today

a kiss or a hug
a humorous friend

these simple pleasure are
passed by in fast society

such pleasures are true beauty
cherish them forever
